Since 1989, Brent has consulted in the set up of many businesses and in the use of many different accounting and payroll softwares. His last four years have been focused on Corporate & Estate Setups and Compliance, and the Preparation of Corporate and Estate tax returns. Brent is considered to be an expert in the area of business & estate taxation. What is an Enrolled Agent?
An enrolled agent is a professional tax practitioner who is enrolled to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), are generally unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can practice before.

Once a year, the Internal Revenue Service gives a very difficult two-day examination covering all aspects of taxation, including procedures and ethics. Traditionally, fewer than one-third of all applicants pass the examination, allowing them to apply for enrollment (the application process includes a thorough background investigation).

Following enrollment, EAs must maintain a stringent annual schedule of professional education in the field of taxation. Because of the difficulty in becoming enrolled and maintaining that enrollment, there are fewer than 35,000 Enrolled Agents in the U.S.
